Greg MacPherson (born 1973 in Sydney, Nova Scotia) is a Canadian singer-songwriter based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. MacPherson performs both as a solo performer and as part of a band. As of fall 2007, MacPherson was working on writing songs for his fourth release, which he planned to release as a downloadable MP3.[1]
On January 4, 2010, MacPherson's sixth album was announced for release on March 30, 2010.[2]
In 2010, MacPherson was announced in the longlist for the Polaris Music Prize, but failed to make the shortlist.
In addition to his musical career, MacPherson has a degree in labour history. He has previously released albums on G7 Welcoming Committee Records, and more recently, Smallman Records. The independent record label play/rec, based in Copenhagen, has released a compilation LP in Europe. His most recent album, Disintegration Blues, was self-released following the demise of both G7 Welcoming Committee Records and Smallman Records.
